Content Marketing with AI and Integrity

Five Questions to Ask to Ensure Integrity and Success

In a world where productivity and efficiency are prized, AI is like a golden ticket. From automated articles to chatbots, brainstorming sessions to strategic plans, AI is getting work done faster and more efficiently than ever before. But as AI-generated content becomes more prevalent, we think it’s important to ask yourself these five questions to ensure integrity and success in today’s AI-driven marketing world.

Is it ethical to use AI-generated content as your own?

The answer to this question isn’t a simple one. AI works by inputting data and training an algorithm. All of that data has been used in other places. So, is it actually unique content? Are there any unique ideas, ever? That’s something that artists and inventers have debated for centuries, and while we all have our comfort-level, at TKG, here’s where we land:

As a creative agency, we believe that AI is ethical, when it’s used as a tool to enhance an idea. Each person on our team brings their unique perspective, experience and expertise that informs their ideas and creative work. AI can get you a first draft, but it takes a human to polish it and get it to the finish line.

How does AI content affect your SEO?

While AI-generated content can be optimized for specific keywords and phrases, it is important to remember that SEO is not just about keywords. It is also about user experience, relevance and quality content. If you rely too heavily on AI-generated content and neglect these other factors, you could end up hurting your SEO in the long run.

If you use AI to write a blog post, how much should you change?

Are you looking for content that will rise above the white noise? Then it’s a good idea to make sure that it’s unique. No new content will make your industry an echo chamber. So, while AI can give you a good place to start, if you want to be a thought leader, you’ve got to use your critical thinking skills.

Why should you pay someone to write content with AI?

Everyone thinks they can write. But not everyone is a writer. It takes a special skill for someone to pay attention to detail and the nuance of words. At TKG, you’re not just paying for someone to string words together, but also for the editing process and the critical thinking that happens along the way. At TKG, we take the time to:

  1. Understand the target audience (and their problems) deeply. Then we identify these patterns, trends and insights to inform your marketing strategy.
  2. Analyze the audience's problem and the implications it has for each persona.
  3. Develop messages that resonate with the audience and solve their problems.
  4. Review key metrics and make a plan to continually improve for the next time.

How can businesses build trust with customers when using AI for marketing?

If you’re looking to build trust with customers – whether using AI or not—it takes time and empathy. You can use AI to create all the content you want, but if you don't take the time to understand your audience and their needs, you won't be able to build even a baseline of trust that is crucial for any successful strategy.

Building trust requires a genuine understanding of your audience's problems, concerns and pain points. It also requires empathy, the ability to see the world from another’s perspective. While AI can certainly help streamline the content creation process, it can't replace the human touch when it comes to building trust with customers.

AI can still be used to help build trust with customers when it’s used as a tool to gather and analyze data about your audience. AI-powered analytics tools can help you gather information about your audience's preferences, behaviors and pain points, allowing you to create content that is tailored to their needs.

But it’s no substitute for empathy or human connection. Ultimately, building trust with customers requires taking the time to understand their needs and concerns, listening to their feedback and responding in a way that shows you genuinely care about their experience.

In summary, using AI can certainly be helpful for content marketing, but it's important to remember that it's just a tool. To truly craft content that will stand out, you need to take the time to understand your audience, their needs and approach your marketing strategy with empathy and a genuine desire to serve their needs.

As with everything tech-related, things can change fast. What we might deem acceptable as of May 2023, may change next month, or even next week. But regardless of the changes, when companies work with TKG, they can be sure that they are choosing a digital partner that is committed to the highest levels of integrity and transparency.
