Junior Front-End Developer.

About this position

The Junior Front-End Developer role at TKG focuses on the technical maintenance and day-to-day health of our clients websites. This roles supports the development team supporting content migration and manipulating pages on clients’ websites, resolving bug fixes, addressing performance and optimization needs in accordance to industry standards and best practices, and managing the website architecture and structure.
Additionally, this role supports the development cycle through rigorous QA testing, to align projects with WCAG 2.0 requirements, to ensure a stable, scalable and performant experience for website visitors. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Migrate, edit and manage content throughout clients’ websites, including both existing projects and new projects.
  • Edit and manipulate rich media objects to align with sizing, scaling and optimization of on-page elements within the web experiences.
  • Test and identify issues related to functionality or user interface/user experience.
  • Perform cross-device testing to ensure experiences are to industry standard and align with clients’ brand standards, as well as the project scope/requirements
  • Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers and back-end developers to provide technical feedback and ensure the front-end implementation aligns with the project vision and architecture.
  • Perform platform maintenance and updates on core platforms.
  • Participate in peer code reviews to uphold high code quality standards across the team.
  • Work from within TKG’s project management suite (Teamwork) in collaboration with creative, content, and development team.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in front-end development, preferably in a client-facing or agency environment.
  • Mid-level knowledge of modern HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency with CSS pre-processors and frameworks, specifically Sass and Tailwind CSS.
  • Proven experience editing and customizing themes for CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal and Shopify.
  • Basic understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and experience implementing them in projects.
  • Basic proficiency with Git for version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience working with design and prototyping tools, specifically Figma.
