Geoff Karcher founded The Karcher Group in 1997, the same year Google launched its web search engine. Coincidence? You can decide for yourself. One thing’s for sure, he entered the Internet industry at the right time.
Opening a web design shop during the peak of the infamous dot-com bubble had its perks.
“Anyone who had an idea and could spell ‘Internet’ wanted a website,” Karcher said.
The Karcher Group was building websites left and right in its first few years of existence, but when the bubble burst, it became clear that the idea of being a website shop wasn’t sustainable. Around 2000, the company became began offering clients a cost-effective online alternative to traditional marketing and advertising.
Changing with the times
Evolution became a theme at TKG. As the Internet grew, The Karcher Group had to grow with it. Throughout the 2000s, TKG went from building websites and managing search engine optimization to adding services such as email, content marketing and online advertising (PPC).
And as the number of people using social media and browsing the web on their mobile devices increased, it was time once more to ensure that TKG was at the forefront of this trend.
“We’re all about executing things that are outside of our comfort zone,” Karcher explained. “So, even though we didn’t have much experience with social media or responsive design, we took on the challenge for the sake of our clients.”
For The Karcher Group, it’s about helping clients grow their business. Because we see our clients as partners—it becomes personal—and we take great pride in seeing their business succeed.
“Over the years, we’ve grown from an agency that helps clients do business efficiently, to one that helps clients grow their topline revenue,” said Karcher.
People First. Digital Always
The Karcher Group’s current brand focuses on helping people achieve their business goals in the digital space.
“I believe we can do better together,” Karcher said. “That means we want to help anyone and everyone grow their business—no matter their budget.”
“We are up front and honest people,” Karcher continued. “If we don’t think we’re the right fit, we’ll tell you. Then we’ll point you in the right direction because we want to see your business succeed even if it’s not with us.”
At the end of the day, it all comes down to doing what’s best for you and your business.
