Todd Whetstone director of strategic initiatives
Todd joined TKG as Controller in 2009 and recently transitioned to the role of Director of Strategic Initiatives. We became acquainted with Todd through a mutual friend at the 415 Group, a local business that happens to be both our longtime financial advisor and web development client.
Todd, who's currently in what could best be described as "semi-retirement," heard our company story and took a special interest in us. We're glad he did, because he's helping work with department leads to strategically plan how they use their people and assets to fit company goals moving forward, as well as work with potential acquisitions to see if they are a fit for TKG.
Todd has had a distinguished career, to put it mildly. He's worked for the Big Eight accounting firm Arthur Andersen in Columbus, Ohio, as well as several Fortune 500 companies in Texas, North Carolina and New York. His career gave him the opportunity to travel extensively and visit most of the states across the US, as well as much of Europe.
So how did Todd end up back in Ohio? Wouldn't you know, it was for a girl. He returned a few years ago to marry Ginny, who he first met while they were attending high school together in Dover, Ohio. When he's not working or spending time with his family, he enjoys volunteer work.
Things Todd's life revolves around:
- Faith
- Family - his wife Ginny and three stepdaughters: Kelly, Jenna and Rachel
- Reading
- Golf
- Horseback Riding
- Traveling
Little known facts:
- He owned a 12 acre ranch outside of Dallas, Texas (and lived in Dallas for twenty years). His neighbors included Randy White, Bill Bates and Deion Sanders (for all you Dallas Cowboys fans)
- On his ranch, he raised Texas Longhorns, and owned horses that competed in the western discipline of reining
- He used to ride motocross for fun (which many people find hard to believe)
Where Todd gained his experience:
Todd graduated from Mount Union College with a degree in Accounting. Over the course of his career, he's worked for Arthur Andersen, American Airlines, Citibank, Bank of America, and as a consultant with CGI.
