TKG Rings in the New Year with a New Website Design
01-13-2009
What better way for TKG to kick off 2009 than with a new website design!

You know the old saying, “the cobbler’s son has no shoes”? That’s how we feel about the TKG website. We’ve spent so much time designing, developing and marketing client sites that our own site has become a perpetual back burner project, never getting above much of a low-simmer in terms of priority.
We (and by “we” we mean “Geoff”) decided in late 2008 to finally turn up the heat on our website! It is, after all, a huge representation of who we are and how most people identify with us; we’re a web company, plain and simple.
At moments the process hasn’t been pretty. It’s involved putting a designer and programmer in isolation in Geoff’s office to ensure they remained undisturbed during the final stages of the process. Also common has been some crazy weekend overtime, middle-of-the-night emails and the Sam’s Club-size bottle of Advil.
But it’s finished (Phase I, anyway), it’s launched, and we’re thrilled! We still have a lot of work to do over the coming weeks and months (including Phases II-IV), and truthfully, we’ll never be “done” with our site. But that’s the great thing about the Web – it’s such a flexible medium that it allows us add, adjust, change, and test to our hearts’ content.
Some features of the new tkg.com:
- All new web design portfolio
- All new Meet the Group pages with social media integration
- Heavier use of video and flash elements throughout the site
- A brand new behind-the-scenes custom Content Management System (CMS), Apoxe, possible the only fully accessible & search engine friendly CMS on the market
- Much more to come!
Of course, client work has been and will always be our priority; that’s what pays the bills around here, but now we’re on our way to a website that reflects the same marketing messages and technology we preach to our clients. Imagine that!
A huge thanks goes out to Colin Brimfield (developer), David Ryder (designer), Kyle Stanley (prgrammer), Jennifer Geh (project manager) and the entire TKG team for bringing to life brand new tkg.com. Now stop reading this article and go check it out!
